OIL PAINTINGS

Oils are a very energetic medium, I love to stand and paint at my easel, outside with the sky and clear light. It is so totally different to using watercolours. I love the flow of the brush and the feel of the oil paint, it tells me what to do as I go along. I usually have a vision in my head of what I wish to create, but often, little unexpected tweaks here and there bring a whole new energy to the painting. The trick is, I find, to go with the flow of it! It is always very exciting painting in oils as I never really know what will appear.
