This forms a large part of my passion. I adore to sit outside and just ‘be’ with the elements, painting a landscape, a bird or flower or simply recording colours of a fleeting moment.  I always sketch with watercolours, they are fast and immediate and  can capture the essence with a few deft swishes of the brush. This for me, is a very rewarding time, I find inspiration pours in from all dimensions and directions. I am consumed by the phenomenal beauty of all things natural, and feel incredibly privileged to be able to sit in amongst it and  endeavour to capture its essence. It is these sketches that inspire larger paintings to be done. A process I love is twirling the visions around in my head until I ‘see’ clearly in my minds eye what I am hoping to convey.
